Tunisia: Forthcoming Development of an Economic Recovery Program

The Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Saied said on Tuesday that his department would soon start developing an economic recovery program that will present urgent measures and a strategic vision for 2035.

This is what emerges from a meeting he held with representatives of mixed chambers of commerce, at the headquarters of the ministry, according to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse.

Samir Saied said that the ministry will also look at the establishment of the development plan for the next period, stressing that it will be developed within the framework of a participatory approach. This will allow, according to him, the Council of mixed chambers to present its suggestions in order to improve the investment and business climate in Tunisia.

At the end of this meeting, the minister and representatives of the mixed chambers agreed to form joint working groups to examine the various proposals, according to TAP.

This meeting was an opportunity to review the various issues facing investors including bureaucratic formalities and to emphasize the need to improve the foreign exchange code and the legislative framework so that it either in phase with advances at the international level, we read from the same source.
