Tunisia – Always half measures and always the fault of the citizen!

The very competent director-general of the observatory of new and emerging diseases, Nissaf Ben Alaya, addressed the press today to detail the anti-covid measures taken by the national committee to fight the disease.

She held, in her speech, to recall that all that occurs and all the damage of which the fault of the citizen, on which they took the habit of unloading their incompetence and their failures. As for them, the enlightenment of science and health, they have nothing to be ashamed of. They do not blame themselves, in particular, for not having, for a moment, opened the country’s borders to patients from all over the world, nor for having delayed too long in taking care of the sick, while relying on the SAMU answering machines, which were unable to respond to the flow of calls for help, which considerably delayed the care of patients, nor having delayed too long in acquiring vaccines and distributing them to citizens.

In short, we dare to come before the Tunisian to tell him that he is the cause of all the misfortunes of the country and that he is destroying the excellent work of the enlightenment of the Ministry of Health. Whereas in reality, if they had done their job as it should, we would have been in a much better situation… We could have been like our Moroccan brothers, for example.

And, on the other hand, we were only entitled, as usual, to half-measures and well-targeted decisions so as not to approach the interests of certain corporations.

For example, there was no question of closing the borders, despite the certain peril, in particular with the detection of the very nasty Indian variant of the covid. As there was no question of establishing the work of civil servants in groups, nor, not more, of removing the chairs from cafes …

We were content to take the same formulas and start again for another round, while hoping that nature will do what is necessary and that the normal evolution of the wave of the epidemic, will cause it to end up run out of steam!
