The US State Department advises its citizens against traveling to 150 countries now placed on the highest alert level in these times of Covid-19 following the update of its list. Morocco does not belong.

In all, 116 countries have been added to the list of countries where it is strongly advised not to travel during this time of health crisis. 34 out of 200 countries were previously affected by this measure aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus and its variants in the United States. With the update last Wednesday, 150 countries are now placed at the highest alert level (level 4), including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Canada, and Israel.

“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a level 4 Travel Health Notice for France due to Covid-19, indicating a very high level of Covid-19 in the country,” explains the State Department. Morocco is not on this list. The United States has classified it as “reconsidering its trip” alongside about 20% of countries in the world including China. To date, the kingdom has suspended air links with 54 countries except for the United States.
