The Swiss Group Sika Announces the Acquisition of MBCC

The Swiss group Sika, which specialized in construction materials, announced yesterday, on the sidelines of the Batimatec show, the acquisition of the company MBCC, one of the major world players in the field of construction chemicals.

During a press conference organized yesterday, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sika El Djazair, Mr. Marcel El Khoury, specified that ” this global acquisition will also concern the Algerian subsidiary of MBCC and that the employees of the two entities work together to make this operation a reality.”

Addressing the ambitions of the Sika group in Algeria, the same manager said that the company intends to “develop innovative solutions and acquire new technologies in order to be able to offer users the most appropriate solutions, facilitating their implementation with the best value for money while being respectful of the environment”.

Sika El Djazair is present at the Batimetac show jointly with Mortero, a subsidiary of the same Sika group in Algeria, specializing in facades. The group has also chosen to highlight its “Sika Academy” training concept and support for the twelfth edition of the national competition for young architects “Charette d’or” by sponsoring this event which is taking place today on the sidelines of Batimatec.

According to a press release from the Swiss group, “through its participation, Sika El Djazair, a leading company in the field of construction and building materials, seeks to strengthen its brand image and to get closer to its customers and professionals in the sector, while highlighting the diversity of its activities and its innovative solutions, in a constantly evolving market ”.

The Sika group presents, in particular, solutions in construction (ranges of admixtures for concrete, additives for the cement industry, sealing and wedging, chemical sealing and rapid bonding), protection including ranges of protection concrete, waterproofing systems, roof system and fire protection.
