The magazine Global Traveler has named Royal Air Maroc (RAM) as the best airline in Africa for the 18th edition of the “GT Tested Reader Survey”, reports a press release from RAM on Thursday. The award was presented in Los Angeles on Tuesday at the annual trophy ceremony.

In this survey, RAM was also ranked 4th best airline in the Middle East and North Africa area behind Etihad Airways, Emirates and Qatar Airways.

“We are happy and honored to receive this prestigious award as well as to be recognized as the best airline in Africa. This recognition comes from the direct testimony of our customers, all over the world. It crowns the daily efforts of our 4,000 employees to offer the highest standards of service excellence, safety, and comfort, at all levels of the customer experience. This Global Traveler Award motivates us above all to continue to move forward and improve ourselves, despite the difficult times our sector is going through”, underlines Hamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc.

In 2019, the national airline was elected by Skytrax, for the 6th consecutive year, the best regional airline in Africa, maintaining its 4-star Skytrax label.

In addition, the 18th edition of the “GT Tested Reader Survey” also awarded Oneworld, of which Royal Air Maroc has been a member since 2020, the title of best global airline alliance for the 12th consecutive year. Last September, it was named the World’s Best Airline Alliance by Skytrax, and in November, it won the Best Airline Alliance award at Business Traveler USA’s Best in Business Travel Awards.

The GT Tested Reader Survey is a benchmark survey for the airline industry and premium tourism, organized by the monthly Global Traveler. It mobilized some 20,000 voters for this 18th edition.
