Algerian diplomacy has regained its natural place in national coordination on a regional and global scale. A fruitful meeting between Algeria and Qatar

The Algerian authorities and several Qatari investors are currently in discussions within the framework of the development of investments in Algeria.

During the meeting, Yacine Hamadi and Abdulaziz Ali Al Naama underlined a point. It is about creating a privileged and permanent relationship between Algerian and Qatari investors. To that end, the first head of the tourism department said his department stands ready to facilitate dialogue.

The latter places particular emphasis on the organization of the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts, in coordination with other ministries, to accommodate a large number of Qatari investors. The latter is preparing to gather in Algeria in the coming days.

Together, they will discuss key engagement plans for the success of multidimensional joint projects. Algeria has implemented strategic processes aimed at creating an investment climate conducive to the success of this major project.

Investors have received various guarantees, including the ability to transfer profits in foreign currency, the simplification of file processing procedures, and transparency.

Qatar, the largest investor in the country

Qatar is the country that invests the most in Algeria according to the statement of the President of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce in February 2022. Indeed, this figure represents 74% of all foreign investments.

Recently, the volume of trade between the two countries has increased significantly. The president of the CACI underlined his real desire to increase investments, particularly in the field of petrochemicals.

For example, Qatar already exists through investments in Algeria through the factories of Bellara or Oreedoo, which occupy an important position in mobile telephony.
