The takfirist, member of the terrorist group Ansar Charia, who attacked a security patrol last Tuesday and stabbed a police officer in Douz (Kébili), was brought before the Judicial Antiterrorist Pole.

Two other suspects linked to this case, and who were planning attacks against personalities and officials, including the President of the Republic, were also detained.

The identity of the two suspects was revealed by the attacker, who claimed that they had recruited him and asked him to carry out this attack against a security unit, while waiting to target those responsible, including the president of the republic. , indicates the agency Tap, citing a statement of the communication service of the court.

The prosecution decided to keep the three religious extremists in detention and instructed the Specialized Terrorist Crimes Unit of the Laouina National Guard to continue the investigation.

Recall that Ansar Charia was active from 2011 to 2015 in Tunisia (under the reign of the troika, a government coalition led by the Islamist party Ennahdha), before being classified as a terrorist organization by the Tunisian authorities and being dissolved by the justice, in particular for its responsibility in the political assassinations (Chokri Belaïd and Mohaled Brahmi), as well as numerous attacks having targeted security and military posts and patrols.
