The size of the Algerian pharmaceutical market was estimated at 3.3 billion euros at the end of 2016, said Monday in Algiers the Director of Pharmacy in the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, Hamou Hafed.

Speaking during the 18th edition of the International Pharmaceutical Forum, Hafed said that the supply of medicines in Algeria was currently provided by 314 private operators, 150 wholesalers-distributors and 9,600 pharmacy pharmacies.

The market share of local drug production has increased five-fold over the past five years, while that of private operators has decreased by 14.5% over the same period (imports of finished products and bulk). For 2017, the budget allocation allocated to this sector is 100 billion DA against 54 billion DA in 2012, he reminded.

Over the past three years, Algeria has registered more than 140 new pharmaceutical investment projects with an average of three to four manufacturing units that are being developed annually, according to Hafed, who That the public authorities try to control expenditure on medicines, in particular through the promotion of a local pharmaceutical industry.

The import bill for pharmaceuticals rose slightly (+ 2.4%) in 2016 to $ 2 billion, while imports decreased to 23,614.2 tonnes (-12.3%).

The Director of Social Insurance Funds at the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Djawad Bourkaïb, said that 55% of the Algerian population was currently covered by social security.

Some 12.69 million Chifa cards have been issued to date to 36.2 million people, according to the same official who pointed out that drugs alone accounted for 68% of social security spending.

Speaking at the forum, the representative of the International Medical Studies Algeria, Mehdi, discussed the prospects of the global and African markets for medicines. According to him, the global market for medicines will reach 1,400 billion dollars in 2020 of which 28 billion dollars for Africa which should register a very strong annual growth (8%) of this market.

The African Medicines Agency, he argued, will enable African countries to harmonize legislation governing the market and to improve the traceability of medicines and will thus be an instrument to combat counterfeiting of these products. I ordered ten 20mg Cialis, https://www.avoncenterdentistry.com/generic-cialis-tadalafil added 2 100mg Viagra free to my sec order. Have used already Viagra, actually first time, it really works.
