The head of the diplomacy of the European Union was received Thursday by the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs. Josep Borrell is in Rabat while Morocco is accused of having paid MEPs to promote its interests in the European Parliament.
The head of the Moroccan diplomacy speaks of accusations aimed at undermining the partnership between his country and the EU. Nasser Bourita, Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs:
“This partnership is also facing attacks in the European institutions, in particular in the (European) Parliament, through questions directed at Morocco, which are the result of calculations and a desire to harm this partnership.” declared the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs.
For Nasser Bourita, Rabat and the EU must protect this partnership. But the head of the European diplomacy warned that there would be “no impunity for corruption”. Josep Borrell awaits the cooperation of the various parties in the investigation.
