Morocco trounces Algeria to win UNAF Women Cup

Morocco on Saturday won the 2020 Union of North African Football Associations (UNAF) title after registering their fourth straight win of the tournament held at Alkarm Stadium, Tunis. 

The Moroccans beat Algeria 2-0 on Saturday in the fifth and final day to finish the tournament with maximum points as well as maintaining their unbeaten record.

They had earlier beaten hosts Tunisia 1-0, pipped Tanzania 3-2 and Mauritania 5-0 to top the five team-tournament that was played on a round-robin basis.

Tanzania, who took part in the tournament as invited guests, finished second with seven points two wins and a draw and a loss.

Tunisia finished third with five points from a win and two draws while Algeria was fourth with four points. Mauritania propped the table with zero points, losing all four matches they played.
