Morocco stops 2 cannabis tons trafficking

Authorities in Morocco said that the succeeded in stopping an attempt of trafficking 2.06 tons of Cannabis near Fes city of the country and apprehended one suspect.

The Moroccan police released a statement on Wednesday saying that the drugs were hidden in a Morocco-registered truck in a gas station in Ain Taoujdate town that falls 30 km to the west of Fes.

The driver of the drug was apprehended and he was put into police custody to conduct an investigation.

The UN Office on Drugs and Crime said that Morocco is still one of the biggest cannabis producers in the world in spite of increased efforts to stop cannabis cultivation in the earlier decade.
