The Puteaux mosque will not be ceded to Morocco. The information was given by the entourage of the French Minister of the Interior.

The disposal of the mosque planned by the Islamic Solidarity Association does not meet with the approval of the Ministry of the Interior. “The sale will not happen,” announced the entourage of French Minister Gerald Darmanin. On various occasions, the latter did not fail to invite the Moroccan authorities to reconsider this project.

The leaders of the mosque did not welcome the news, they who hoped for a financial contribution from Morocco to complete the construction of the Islamic center started in 2011 on a plot of rue Saulnier.

On the other hand, some faithful of the Puteaux mosque welcome this decision, especially as the transfer project was not unanimous within the local Muslim community, a large number of members of which have continued to denounce the “lack of transparency ”in this project.

As for the municipality of Puteaux, it has remained silent on the subject, apart from Councilor Francis Poézévara, elected from an opposition party (Generation S.), who disagreed with the project during the last municipal council.
