Morocco: Lekjaa Contests for Chan and Warns Algeria for CAN U17!

On Saturday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that it will not sanction Morocco for its boycott of CHAN 2022 in Algeria earlier this year.

While one would have thought that this decision would satisfy the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), which escaped heavy sanctions, it is not so! This Monday, at the microphone of Radiomars, the president of the body, Fouzi Lekjaa, indeed regretted that CAF had only confirmed that Morocco was not at fault but without indicating who was responsible.

In other words, the leader is calling for sanctions against Algeria, which closed its airspace with its neighbor in September 2021 amid diplomatic tensions, which has complicated the movement of the Atlas Lions, which have refused a direct flight Rabat-Constantine. The Moroccan also considered that the simple call to order imposed by CAF on Algeria because of the political remarks made during the opening ceremony of CHAN is not enough, pleading for sanctions…
