Morocco: Dozens of Moroccan Students Apply for Turkey Scholarships

Within the framework of the scholarship program of the Presidency of the Affairs of Turks Abroad and Affiliated Communities ”YTB”

Dozens of Moroccans applied on Monday for the competition for the “Turkey scholarships” program offered by the “Presidency of the Affairs of Turks Abroad and Affiliated Communities (YTB).

Many Moroccan students, from different cities of the country, participated in the oral interview phase, at the Turkish Cultural Center “Yunus Emre” in the capital, Rabat.

This stage of oral interviews comes after having passed that of selection on the website dedicated to scholarships.

Ensar Firat, director of the Yunus Emre Institute in Rabat, said that dozens of Moroccan students applying for the research phases of bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate, and even post-doctorate, will appear for oral interviews over a period of three days in order to select some of them for these scholarships.

In an interview with the Anadolu agency, Firat indicated that the winners of these scholarships will receive financial grants and other privileges while studying in Turkey.

He explained that the Turkish scholarship program attracts dozens of Moroccan students every year who continue their studies in Turkey in various disciplines.

Turkey offers the opportunity to study internationally, besides offering scholarships for foreign students from different countries of the world to train in Turkish universities.

The scholarship program is at the forefront of competitive, state-funded programs in Turkey and offers distinguished students the opportunity to continue their studies at various levels in the most prestigious universities.

The YTB receives applications for the program free of charge through its website, ww.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr. Applications are available for students wishing to study at bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels.

All those who pass the initial online assessment are invited for oral interviews at around 100 points around the world, and those who pass are awarded a scholarship.

During their first year in Turkey, fellows learn the Turkish language.

The scholarship provides students with accommodation in student housing, including meals, a monthly scholarship, university fees, free professional and academic development programs, and free health insurance.

The scholarship also pays for students’ airfare for their departure to Turkey, as well as the ticket to return to their country after graduation.

In 2020, 156,000 students from 172 countries applied for the Turkey scholarship program, indicating that Turkey has become a center of attraction in international education.

Over 2,000 Moroccan students, in various disciplines study in Turkey at public, private, and endowment universities, including scholarship students.
