The Meseta project, located 80 kilometers south of Rabat, has significant copper potential.

Mining explorer Critical Mineral Resources is strengthening its presence in Morocco by acquiring four new exploration permits located in the regions of Rabat and Beni-Mellal and extending over 80 square kilometers.

This acquisition follows CMR’s acquisition in June 2023 of an 80% stake in Atlantic Research Minerals and the securing of the Ighem project in September.

We are excited to add the Meseta project to our exploration permit portfolio. This is in line with CMR’s strategy of targeting Moroccan assets with high potential for producing clean energy raw materials,” said Charles Long, CEO of CMR.

The Meseta project, located approximately 80 kilometers south of Rabat, is known for its mining potential (copper, tungsten, tin, lead, and zinc), with a history of mining activity at various locations.

“As we continue to develop near-term producing assets such as Anzar, Meseta in turn represents an important and strategic addition to our portfolio and early indications give us confidence in the development potential of copper in the framework of this project,” continues Charles Long.
