This Sunday, the Ministry of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production said it had received the first delivery comprising 65,000 boxes of the anti-vitamin K drug on a flight from Italy via Air Algérie.

The first doses of anti-vitamin K “Acenocoumarol” (Novarol and Sintrom) were received yesterday, according to the latest press release from the ministry.

In order to guarantee a certain equity in the availability of the boxes, the competent authorities at the service of the ministry will carry out the distribution today, Sunday, and the supply of the actors of the sector throughout the territory.

A second batch containing the remaining quantities, estimated at approximately 300,000 boxes, should be received in the next few days by sea freight from Italy.

Acenocoumarol not found on the market, what is it due to?

Through its press release, the Ministry of the Pharmaceutical Industry also wished to provide clarifications regarding the phenomenon of scarcity of Acenocoumarol encountered recently.

According to the public authorities, this shortage is ”  linked to external factors “, and the ministerial authorities are working to resolve this situation by taking all the necessary measures, in particular by diversifying the sources of supply and by localizing the production of Acenocoumarol. on the national territory in others. This strategy was put in place in order to avoid problems of monopolization and to guarantee a continuous supply on the market.

Insulin production in Algeria: an Algerian-Chinese cooperation soon to be launched

The CEO of the Saidal group, Mr. Wassim Kouidri, on Friday welcomed a delegation from a leading Chinese company in the production of insulin. The meeting was held in Batna, in the presence of the director and executives of the eastern business unit.

The Chinese technical team went to Batna to choose the land that will host the factory dedicated to the production of insulin crystals (the raw material used in the production of insulin). The wilaya of Batna has a base with an area of ​​3,000 m² which could well serve as a basis for making the project a reality.

In the medium term, this collaboration will allow Saidal to cover the needs of the national market, then export the product to Africa and the Middle East.
