With an access price of 77,400 dollars and an approved range of 653 km, Lucid places its Air electric sedan against the Tesla Model S.

During the presentation in early September, Lucid Motors hit a big blow with its first model. The air electric sedan, clearly top of the range, displayed a neat interior, performance and above all a record range. He lacked a starting price, now known.

Lucid Air starts at 77,400 dollars across the Atlantic or 64,835 euros at the current exchange rate. The goal is to offer the car at $69,900 after deducting the US bonus of $7,500, but also to compete with Tesla.

Coincidence or not, Elon Musk’s firm had lowered its rate this week; to anticipate? First lowered to $71,900, the Model S suffered a further decline following the announcements of Lucid. On Twitter, Elon Musk announced an access price of $69,420 for the Long Range Plus version with 647 km of range. Slightly surpassing its Californian competitor, the Lucid Air boasts 653 kilometres and 480 horsepower. The difference will be in the perceived quality, the more robust configurator and the interior atmosphere of the Air with its 4 screens.

Not before 2022

On the other hand, the Tesla Model S is available immediately (within 2-3 months of delivery), while the Lucid Air will wait… 2022! To wait, the reservation costs only 300 dollars (255 €), and the brand offers 3 years of charging on the US network Electrify America.
