Libya, Algeria to cooperate in electricity fields

The Director of the Algerian Energy Company Sonelgaz, Mohammed Arqab, clarified that his company had agreed with the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) to develop a roadmap that would include the participation of Sonelgaz in improving the Libyan electricity production.

Arqab confirmed on Thursday that a delegation of technicians from the company visited Libya to inspect the generators and restore them so that they could launch a project to complete the medium voltage line to transfer energy to Libya, according to the Algerian newspaper Al-Nasr.

Arqab stated last July that Algeria was studying the possibility of linking the high-voltage lines between Algeria and Libya via Tunisia to supply Libya with electricity.
