Industry: Foreign Companies Want to Relocate to Algeria

Speaking at a meeting organized on Monday evening by the Algerian-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, AHK Algeria, Mr. Belbrik announced that the ministry receives “a lot of investment requests” from “large-scale foreign companies” who want to “relocate to Algeria”.

These are companies from Europe, Malaysia, Turkey and China “who want to set up squarely in Algeria”, according to the manager. Mr. Belbrik insisted on the fact that Algeria has a lot of potential that must absolutely be developed, stressing that the Algerian economy “wants to stand out from the oil revenue, to produce and be more competitive, particularly in industry, and it must be able to export”. He also asserted, that all the conditions are met for Algerian and foreign companies to form partnerships to exploit the immense potential that Algeria holds, particularly in this international situation. In this sense, Mr. Belbrik praised the advantages that Algeria presents to interest foreign investors, in particular the very competitive energy prices, a qualified and inexpensive workforce, a lot of natural resources, an infrastructure existing base (roads, motorways, rails), proximity to Europe, and tariff dismantling with this continent. For her part, the German ambassador to Algeria, Elisabeth Wolbers, affirmed that her country, notably through the embassy, ​​AHK Algeria, the GIZ and many other actors who are actively involved in the framework of bilateral economic relations, will continue to work so that companies can use their full potential in the interest of both economies.
