Hachani and Nouri in the Fight against Suspicious Foreign Financing

The Head of Government, Ahmed Hachani met Monday, at the Government Palace in Kasbah, with the Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) Fethi Zouhair Nouri, and the Secretary General of the Tunisian Financial Analysis Commission (CTAF), Neila Fathallah, underlined the unity of the Tunisian State and the harmony of action between the two institutions, particularly in the fight against the transfer and flow of suspicious foreign funds.

The Head of Government emphasized the essential role of the BCT and the CTAF, as well as banks and financial institutions in monitoring and combating suspicious foreign financing in the country.

And to specify that national sovereignty is the priority of the Tunisian State which works to fight against all external attempts to violate its sovereignty, and against interference in its internal affairs, through the financing of associations or organizations, indicated the Presidency of the Government in a press release published Monday in Tunis.

The participants underlined that Tunisia has a legal arsenal like all countries in the world, which takes into consideration the legislation resulting from the FATF, allowing it to fight against money laundering and the manipulation of legally allocated funds that are used for purposes that could harm national security, by financing certain associations and organizations

The Head of Government called on the BCT and the CTAF to intensify efforts in the fight against the transfer of suspicious foreign funds, by intensifying control and monitoring financial operations.
