Five People Who Planned Attacks in Morocco Arrested

Five individuals were arrested by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) for their alleged involvement in the planning and preparation of terrorist attacks.

Their arrest came during several separate and simultaneous security operations in Kenitra, Larache, Souk sebt ouled nemma, Taroudant, and Marrakech, a BCIJ statement said.

The searches carried out at the defendants’ homes led to the seizure of electronic equipment and media, as well as manuscripts praising Daesh and knives of various sizes.

According to preliminary data from the investigation, the five extremists between the ages of 21 and 44 are involved in the incitement and preparation of terrorist projects, as they began to collect extremist content on the manufacture of explosive devices.

The suspects have set themselves terrorist objectives specific to each of them and which all overlap in the method and techniques of individual terrorism. These contents extol the style of physical liquidation and desecration of corpses adopted by Daesh, in addition to adopting extremist ideas on the takfirism of society and government officials and making halal the spoils of operations.
