Dubai hosts 2nd Forum of Public Finances in Arab countries on 11-14 February

ALGIERS-Finance Minister Hadji Babaammi partakes in the 2nd Forum of Public Finances in Arab Countries between 11 and 14 February in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), announced Saturday the Ministry in a communiqué.

The forum, themed “Mobilization and diversification of revenues in Arab world: Challenges and opportunities,” will be an opportunity to broach the challenges facing political leaders in the region and exchange experiences on the mobilization of resources,” said the communiqué.

The forum will also focus on “the political option aiming to promote inclusive and sustainable growth including strategies of non-hydrocarbon revenues development, drawing up fair and efficient tax policies, particularly the tax on added value (TVA), and highlighting international and regional experiences in tax reforms with strong impact,” said the source.

Babaammi will chair a meeting themed “How Arab countries can meet the challenges relating to revenues mobilization.”

During his visit to Dubai, Babaammi will also participate in the 5th World Governmental Summit (WGS) that will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum , Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.

This summit will discuss issues relating to climate change, environment, sustainable development, food security and the Arab youth.

On the sidelines of this Summit, the Finance Minister will also take part in an in camera meeting of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers, added the source.
