Cycling: Moroccans Raja Chaker and Achraf Ed-Doghmi Win Gold Medals at the African Championship

Moroccan cyclists Raja Chaker and Achraf Ed-Doghmi were both gold medalists on Saturday in Abuja at the 2022 African Track Cycling Championship.

Chaker won this precious metal in the individual pursuit category (junior ladies) contested at the Abuja Velodrome, while his compatriot Ed-Doghmi won it in the same discipline, senior men’s category.

Still among the seniors, Mohcine El Kouraji won a bronze medal in the individual pursuit event. In the American race, juniors Alaa Aziki and Achraf El-Karimi snatched bronze.

On Friday, the athlete Raja Chaker won a second gold medal for Morocco in the points race category (junior ladies), while Achraf Ed-Doghmi on Thursday won the first gold medal for the Kingdom in the senior category scratch race.

On the counter of the Moroccan national cycling team after three days of very tight African competition, 4 gold medals, 3 silver, and 5 bronze.

Young Moroccan cyclists spare no effort and show undeniable abilities during the cycling competition which takes place from July 14 to 17 in Nigeria.

Several cyclists from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Benin, Guinea, Burundi, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Sudan from the South, Uganda, Algeria, Togo, Rwanda, and Tunisia, are racing the tracks of the African Track Cycling Championship in Abuja.
