After two years marked by the health crisis and the closure of the maritime borders, the national community settled in France is reconnecting with the crossings of Algeria Ferries, but also of Corsica Linea.

The French shipping company provides lines from Marseille to several Algerian ports, including those of Algiers and Béjaia. If prices show a drop at the end of the summer, now some Internet users are again complaining of an outbreak denounced on social networks.

Algeria travel: prices soar for departures in October

Many Algerians in France preferred to avoid the summer season and plan the trip to Algeria in the fall during school holidays. Wanting to avoid the summer rush, they were greatly disappointed when they found out that their trip in October will cost them just as much.

This is particularly the case of an Internet user who did not hesitate to denounce the prices charged by the French shipping company. On social networks, the Algerian traveler living in France indicated that Corsica Linea “makes huge profits on the backs of poor Algerians”.

In a post published on the Facebook group “Les Algériens dans le monde”, the Internet user published a Marseille-Algiers reservation for the month of October, the price of which exceeds €1,000. “€1144 for a booking in October”, she laments. The latter specifies that the price concerns an armchair and a place for a vehicle.

Annoyed, the traveler attacks the commercial policy of Corsica Linea, but also all the shipping companies that provide links with Algeria. “All global companies make huge profits on the backs of poor Algerians, especially Corsica Linea”.

Travel Algeria: how much does a Corsica Linea ticket cost in October?

The Internet user does not mince his words and affirms that this situation  complicates the return to the country of many Algerians.

To verify his statements, we made a jump to the site of the French company. This is a Marseille-Algiers return ticket. Although Corsica tickets are around €300 one-way, adding a vehicle to the equation raises the price by nearly €500.

In the comments, some say that “traveling with your car is a whim, it is not a vital need”. Others indicate that the prices charged by Algeria Ferries are “cheaper”. There are also those who recall that traveling from France to Algeria via Tunisia is a better alternative.
