Tunisia is the 2nd most competitive export economy and one of the only African countries to have consistently outperformed the world average; it outperforms all but two countries in this dimension and has consistently performed well since 2009. Tunisia has the second-highest human well-being score behind Mauritius…

This is what emerges from the “African Transformation Index” barometer of the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) which measures the impacts of economic transformation, a popular subject, in 30 African countries. This ranking is established on the basis of five main criteria, namely product diversification, export competitiveness, increased productivity, use of technologies and human development. These variables are grouped into the English acronym “DEPTH” (depth).

This index evaluates the performance of African countries and groups them into an overall index on a scale from 0 (least transformed) to 100 (most transformed). Regarding Tunisia, the following emerges: Tunisia is a high economic transformer with an overall score of 69.5, it has the most diversified economy in Africa, maintaining a constant diversification score since 2000.

Generally speaking, improving the competitiveness of economic actors is the subject of strong competition between countries to create the best conditions for investment and production and better position themselves in an increasing market. more globalized, more and more open to international competition.

It should be noted, in this regard, that Tunisia is strongly affected by this competition, especially since the smallness of its market necessarily leads it to reinforce the choice of the open economy and to offer the company a climate business at least equivalent to that of competing countries to be able to expect a revival of investment and an acceleration of growth and job creation on viable and sustainable bases.
