The Moroccan football team will face the Egyptian team next Sunday in the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations. The Eagles of Carthage snatched the victory against the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire in pain.

The Atlas Lions now know the name of their opponent in the quarter-finals of the 2021 African Cup of Nations. It is Egypt who qualified on Wednesday, January 26 at the Japoma stadium in Douala.

Morocco had qualified after beating Malawi (2-1) on Tuesday, thanks to goals scored by Youssef En-nesyri and Achraf Hakimi. The meeting between the two teams will be held on Sunday, January 30 at the Omnisport Paul Biya stadium in Olembé, from 4 p.m. (Moroccan time).

Given the jostling that occurred in this stadium at the start of the week, the match can be relocated to the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé.
