The Moroccan coach of CR Belouizdad, Badou Zaki, winner of the Cup of Algeria on Wednesday 5 July 2017 after beating ES Setif in the final, took advantage of the medals awarded by Prime Minister Abdelmadjid Tebboune to ask him to open The Algerian-Moroccan borders, closed since 1994.

Named coach in November 2016, Badou Zaki managed to have the Chabab ranked 6th in Ligue 1 Mobilis. The Belouizdadis have won 16 wins, totaling 4 draws and 5 defeats.

The Moroccan coach yesterday offered the 7th Algeria Cup to CR Belouizdad in the final against ES Setif at the 5 July stadium.

His conversation with Prime Minister Abdelmadjid Tebboune, after the medals were awarded to the players and other staff members of both teams, seems to have aroused the curiosity of several journalists.

Asked later in the locker room about these exchanges, Badou Zaki revealed that he had asked Mr. Tebboune the opening of the Algerian-Moroccan borders. “I said to him: Mr. Tebboune, I am not a politician, but I ask you one thing: open borders,” he said.
