Algiers International Fair: Presence of 34 countries, Russia guest of honor

The 50th edition of the International Fair of Algeria (FIA) will open next Monday at the Palais des Expositions (Pins Maritimes) with the participation of 536 Algerian companies and 494 foreigners from 34 countries, announced Saturday the P-dg of The Algerian Society of fairs and exports (Safex), Mr. Tayeb Zitouni

Under the theme “50 years in the service of the Algerian economy”, this edition of the FIA ​​will be held from May 8 to 13, with Russia as guest of honor, which will be represented by some thirty companies. News

Mr. Zitouni at a joint press conference with the sales representative at the Russian Embassy in Algiers, Mr. Alexey Shaltov.

The total area of ​​the national and foreign stands reserved for this FIA covers nearly 34,000 m2 of which 28,784 m2 are dedicated to national exhibitors, ie 85% of the total area.

The 28 official pavilions that will house 354 foreign companies are those of Belarus, Brazil, China, Côte d’Ivoire, Cuba, Egypt, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Japan, Jordan, Libya, Mali, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Senegal, Sudan, Syria, the Czech Republic and Turkey.

Individual foreign participation will include 30 companies covering an area of ​​245 m2, coming from eleven (11) countries: China, Spain, India, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Portugal, Senegal, the Czech Republic, Thailand and Tunisia.

By sectors, the area reserved for the partnership comes first with 93 exhibitors, followed by the agri-food sector (70 companies), the energy and chemical and petrochemical industry (69 companies), electricity and electronics 36 companies), manufacturing (28 companies), mechanical engineering, steel and metallurgy (38 companies), services (59 companies), major building works (18 companies).

Mr Zitouni highlighted the new dimension of the FIA ​​adopted since 2010, which focuses mainly on investment and strengthening partnership with foreign companies, rather than a commercial aspect of the past.

For his part, Mr Shaltov said that “there are enormous investment opportunities in Algeria that we hope to exploit in partnership + win-win + in particular in the sectors of agriculture, mechanical industry, Equipment and tourism “.

The participation of Russian companies taking part in this 50th edition aims to give impetus to bilateral exchanges and economic cooperation between Russia and Algeria, he said.

This year’s edition of the FIA ​​will also see the inauguration of the museum of this international economic event, designed to trace the history of the FIA ​​through mainly exhibitions of photos and old posters of this event.
