The case of Algerian nationals residing in Great Britain and stranded since February 26 in the international zone of Paris Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport has just taken a new turn. The travelers in question would have decided to initiate a procedure with the French justice against Air Algérie to assert their rights. This was indicated on Saturday by the site specializing in travel VVA.

The 27 Algerian travelers, who came from Great Britain, were prevented from boarding the last repatriation flights of the national company Air Algeria . In response, they decided to take the airline to court. To do this, the travelers have enlisted the services of a French lawyer.

Algerian nationals responded to the Algerian Embassy in France which affirmed that they had been informed of the cancellation of their Paris – Algiers plane tickets Those concerned indicate: “We arrived on February 26 in Paris. At no time were we informed of the cancellation of our tickets ”, thus denying the version given by the Algerian Embassy in Paris

As a reminder, the diplomatic representation indicated on Thursday that “following the detection in Algeria, on February 25, 2021, of cases of the English variant of Covid-19, the people concerned, in number 27 (including children) were entered individually by the Air Algérie agency in London, informing them of the cancellation of their Paris – Algiers plane ticket ”.

In addition, the Algerian embassy in Paris  has undertaken to “take charge of the return tickets to their places of residence, pay the costs of PCR tests, reimburse their London – Paris ticket, take charge of the excess baggage, cover hotel costs while they are being returned ”. The same source underlines that “despite the proposals made guaranteeing them the return to their places of residence (Great Britain), the concerned have chosen to remain in the international zone”.
