Algeria-Tunisia Libya Tripartite Meeting Every Three Months

The Presidents of Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya agreed to meet every three months. The first meeting will take place in Tunisia after the month of Ramadhan. 

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his two counterparts, the Tunisian Kais Saied and the Libyan Mohamed Younes El-Menfi, met after the end of the work of the seventh summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) which is held this Saturday, March 2, 2024, in Algiers.

They agreed to meet every three months. The first tripartite meeting will take place in Tunisia after the month of Ramadhan.

“Today, Presidents Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the Republic, his brothers Kais Saied, President of the Tunisian Republic, and Mohamed Younes El-Menfi, President of the Libyan Presidential Council, held a tripartite meeting during which they reviewed the results of the seventh gas summit held in Algeria,” indicates a press release from the Presidency.

“The presidents also discussed the conditions prevailing in the Maghreb region and the meeting concluded on the need to intensify and unify efforts to address economic and security challenges in a manner that will positively benefit the people of the three countries,” added the same source.

Furthermore, the same press release specifies that “it was also decided to hold a Maghreb tripartite meeting every three months, the first in Tunisia after the holy month of Ramadhan”.
