Algeria maintains its domination of the Spanish natural gas market, rising for the sixth consecutive month to the rank of leading supplier to the country.

This remarkable performance dethrones the United States, which previously held this position for many years.

With a market share of 42%, Algeria is well ahead of its competitors, leaving Russia far behind at 25.7% and the United States at 18.2%.

Last May, Algerian exports of natural gas to Spain reached 10,267 GWh (gigawatt-hour), or 36.3% of the country’s total natural gas imports for that month, according to the Enagas group, network manager. Spanish gas company.
