After Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, and Janssen, Morocco acquires the anti-Covid-19 vaccine Pfizer BioNTech. The kingdom expects to receive a large batch of this vaccine in August.

Morocco will receive, during the third week of August, 1.8 million doses of vaccine Biontech Pfizer. A vaccine is 95% effective against symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection.

With this new arrival, the kingdom will be able to further accelerate the vaccination campaign against the coronavirus, which started in January. This campaign will also be extended in the next few days to people over the age of 17.

Morocco was keen to ensure a diverse supply of anti-Covid-19 vaccines, which will allow it to continue its vaccination campaign in the best conditions in order to achieve collective immunity soon.

As of August 3, the total number of doses administered is 24,751,744 including 14,314,037 first doses and 10,437,707 second doses. The Covid-19 report shows 633,923 cases of contamination, 569,452 healings, and 9,885 deaths.
