Data released by the US State Department indicates that Morocco is among the three Arab countries that obtained the most visas for its citizens in 2022.
The annual report published by the US Department of State for 2022 states that the total number of immigrant visas for the United States stands at 493,000. With 5,200 visas in 2022, Egypt tops the list Arab countries with the highest number of immigrant visas. It is followed by Yemen with less than 5,200. Morocco completes the top 3 with 4,000 visas. Iraq ranks seventh with 2,118 visas.
Immigrant visas allow foreign nationals to immigrate to the United States to live and work without the restrictions associated with nonimmigrant visas. They are granted on the basis of family ties, employment, asylum or selection under the Diversity Immigration Program.
