Sabri Boukadoum, New Ambassador of Algeria to the United States

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum, has been named Algeria’s new ambassador to the United States of America.

Indeed, the American Government has given its approval to the appointment of Sabri Boukadoum, as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the democratic and popular Algerian Republic to the United States of America.

This was stated this Monday in a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, taken up by the APS agency.

Born in Constantine in 1958, Sabri Boukadoum served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from April 2, 2019, to July 7, 2021. Between November 1996 and September 2001, he was Algeria’s ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire and head of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2001 to 2005.

He was Algeria’s ambassador to Portugal from October 2005 to August 2009. He was director general of the Americas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from November 2009 to December 2013. In December 2013, he was the permanent representative of Algeria to the United Nations, until March 31, 2019.
