More than two million pilgrims gathered on Saturday on Mount Arafat to perform, in a climate of piety and contemplation, the most important rite of the Hajj.

The pilgrims will perform the prayers of Ad-Dohr and Al-Asr, shortened and grouped with a single call (adhan) but two iqama, in the Namira Mosque after listening to the Khotba of Arafat, which will be translated into around twenty languages. At sunset, they will surge towards Muzdalifah where they will perform the Al Maghrib and Al Isha prayers.

Located about 20 km from Mecca, Mount Arafat, also known as Jabal Al-Rahma, is the most important stop of the pilgrimage.

Sunday, the first day of Eid Al Adha in Saudi Arabia, pilgrims will begin, at dawn, to perform the ritual of stoning the steles at the site of Mina, by throwing the seven stones of “Jamrat Al -Aqaba”.

Afterward, the pilgrims will shave and cut their hair, then sacrifice the “Hady” of Eid Al-Adha. They will then perform “Tawaf Al-Ifadha”, after which they return to Mina to spend the night there for the remainder of the days of “Tachriq”.

This year, the number of Moroccan pilgrims amounts to 34,000, of which 22,500 are supervised by the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs, while travel agencies supervise 11,500 pilgrims.
