According to a statement from the German Embassy in Tunisia. German Chancellor Angela Merkel affirmed the readiness of the German government to continue to support Tunisia as a partner, welcoming the appointment of a woman as head of government.
This is what emerges from a statement made public on the official Facebook page of the German Embassy in Tunisia and consulted by the Anadolu Agency (AA).
The Chancellor highlighted the importance of the challenges which the government will have to face and let know that Tunisia had accomplished great democratic achievements which come to strengthen its links with Germany and Europe.
Merkel expressed the wish to see Tunisia consolidate its achievements, particularly in relation to rights, freedoms and pluralism.
“The fight against corruption, the strengthening of the sovereignty of the law and economic and social reforms require patience, perseverance, transparency, dialogue and cooperation,” she said, according to the same source
