In bankrupt Lebanon, a bank customer took employees and other customers hostage to demand his own money.

Yesterday Thursday, a Lebanese custodian at the Federal Bank in Beirut, took bank employees and other customers hostage to claim his own money, several Lebanese media reported.

Surrounded by police and army units, the man allegedly threatened to set himself on fire if he did not get his money. He also allegedly threw gasoline into the premises and threatened to set it on fire.

A similar incident occurred in January when an angry customer took dozens of employees and bystanders, hostage, at a bank in Bekaa.

The bank refused to withdraw his dollar savings. The man, who had finally won his case, had surrendered to the police, without any casualties being reported.
