The Walt Disney company wants to take possession of all the businesses in the Moroccan pavilion at the “EPCOT” theme park near the city of Orlando, Florida. A decision that comes in connection with a debt the company owes to Disney.

To maintain 260 jobs, following the closure caused by the health crisis, last April, the company “Marrakech Moroccan Restaurant LLC” requested a “PPP” loan of $ 1 to $ 2 million from Walt Disney. In September, Walt Disney Word claimed a bond against “all property, inventory, furniture and all other property belonging to the debtor which is or may be among the facilities,” reported the US site Worldwide News Today .

One of the few lodges that operate freely at EPCOT, the company has reportedly struck a deal that could allow Walt Disney World to run lodge operations by the end of the year, the same source said. But the Moroccan Embassy and the Moroccan National Tourist Office will continue as cultural consultants to have their say in the management of the pavilion.

At the moment, only the “Spice Road Table” restaurant, souvenir shops and the museum are open. The Marrakech restaurant remained closed, as did the “Tangierine” café.
