Licensed lawyer of the Supreme Court and professor of constitutional law and international law, Lezhari was a member of the Council of the Nation and the Commission of Jurists, in charge of the revision of the Constitution.

He has “great expertise” with issues relating to Human Rights and U.N. mechanisms relating to it, thanks to two terms he held as a member of the Human Rights Committee, a monitoring body of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (2008-2016).

Made up of 18 independent experts, the Human Rights Consultative Council exercises the role of a “think tanks” to the Human Rights Council since it submits the assessment of its member states, studies and thoughts that it elaborates on issues relating Human Rights, said the source.
