Algeria-Cameroon: Thunderbolt From Egypt!

While the Algerian Football Federation filed an appeal after the defeat conceded by the Fennecs against Cameroon, an Egyptian journalist assures that the investigation carried out by the international body has brought to light disturbing elements.

Algeria does not disarm. Almost a month after the match lost by the Fennecs against Cameroon in Blida and their elimination at the gates of the World Cup, Algerian fans still hope to see their proteges participate in the Qatari world cup. A consequence of supposed refereeing errors by Bakary Gassama, who was on the whistle. Errors such as the  Algerian Football Federation filed an appeal with FIFA.

The International Federation will consider this appeal on Thursday. And while Charaf Eddine Amara, the resigning president of the Algerian Federation wanted to be pessimistic at first, affirming that  “the chances of replaying the match are weak”  and not wanting to give “illusions” to the supporters, the deal seems to have changed, the Algerian leader now evokes a “  solid file”.

And it is not the revelations made by the Egyptian journalist Maher Genina this weekend that will curb the ardor of the   Algerian supporters. According to the specialist from the On-Time Sports channel, “FIFA’s investigation has taken another turn with new elements in favor of Algeria”. And the journalist mentioned a compromising audio recording, adding that “FIFA is currently investigating the case of a referee who received a sum of money by transfer to his account via a company belonging to a president of a federation whose selection is qualified for the next World Cup.
