Ait Ali receives the Italian Ambassador to Algeria

The Minister of Industry, Mr. Ferhat AÏT Ali Braham, received His Excellency the Ambassador of Italy in Algiers, Mr. Pasquale Ferrara on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Ministry. He paid him a farewell visit at the end of his mission in Algeria, indicates a press release from the ministry this Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

During this hearing, the two parties assessed the state of bilateral relations and the prospects for cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the industrial field.

In this context, the Minister recalled the various measures already taken by his department as well as the main axes of the future regulatory framework governing investment in order to encourage foreign investment, particularly in sectors with high added value in terms of capacity and technicality and job creators.

According to Mr. Aït Ali Braham, investors will have, by the end of the current year, a clearer vision of the new regulatory system which should guarantee the stability and transparency of the business climate in Algeria.

For his part, the Italian ambassador praised the “coherent” and “considered” approach of the Minister aimed at the stability of the business climate in Algeria, stressing, on the other hand, the need to strengthen the Algerian-Italian industrial partnership.

The diplomat also indicated that a Business Forum will be organized at the beginning of next year in Algiers to examine partnership projects, particularly in the fields of agri-food, renewable energies, and SMEs.

Finally, the Ambassador who thanked the Department of Industry for its collaboration and presence throughout his mission in Algeria, indicated that his successor will continue to work for the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, especially in the strategic sectors in which the two countries must engage.
