Djamel Belmadi has chosen his men to face Cameroon in the 2022 World Cup play-offs. The Algeria coach has selected 24 players for the occasion, including four players who play in Ligue
1. The Brestois Youcef Belaïli is there, Riyadh Mahrez as well. Discover the complete list of Fennecs.
Absent from the last final phase of the World Cup, in Russia four years ago, Algeria and Cameroon have an appointment with the qualifying play-offs on March 25 and 29. The double confrontation promises to be vindictive since only one of these two nations will score its ticket for Qatar.
As this crucial meeting approaches, the Fennecs know who to expect. Algerian coach Djamel Belmadi has 24 names on his list to face the Indomitable Lions.
Unsurprisingly, Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City), a real star of the selection, is part of the selected group. Four Ligue 1 players are also present: Youcef Belaïli (Stade Brestois) , Youcef Atal (OGC Nice), Hichem Boudaoui (OGC Nice) and Alexandre Oukidja (FC Metz).
Algeria remains on a particularly disappointing African Cup of Nations. The Fennecs, who had remained undefeated for 35 consecutive meetings, ended their good series and did not cross the group stage.
