Un Calls for Lower Tension Between Morocco and Algeria

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for dialogue to ease tension over Algeria’s accusations against Morocco about what she called “a bombing” that targeted two Algerian trucks in the buffer zone in the Sahara.

The spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General said he was monitoring the situation and calling for dialogue for an easing of tensions, a call made by different networks and different levels.

The UN official asked what to wait for the new emissary of UN Secretary-General Staffan de Mistura to take office to see to what extent he could contribute to improving the situation.
