Tunisie Telecom Achieves the Highest Turnover in the Sector in 2022

The Observatory of the National Telecommunications Authority (INT) has published the sector’s scoreboard for the fourth quarter of 2022 , which shows sector turnover up 5.4%, compared to the year 2021.

The sector turnover has indeed gone from 897.53 million Tunisian dinars (MDT) in 2021 to 946.12 MDT in 2022.   

By operator, Tunisie Telecom achieves the highest overall turnover (all activities combined) in the sector with 339.9 MTD in 2022 against 312.8 MTD in 2021, i.e. an increase of 8.7%, also the highest growth in the sector.

In second place, we find Ooredoo with 320.6 MTD in 2022 against 329.6 MTD in 2021, i.e. a drop of -2.7%  

Orange brings up the rear with an overall turnover of 196 MTD in 2023 against 185.1 MTD in 2021, i.e. an increase of 5.9%

As far as internet service providers (ISP) are concerned, Topnet comes first with 59.5 MTD in 2022 against 43.6 MTD in 2021, an increase of 36%, followed by Tunisie Telecom with 24, 6 MTD during the past financial year (against 15.3% a year earlier).

The other players in the sector are Globalnet (16.2 MTD against 13.8 MTD, +18%); Orange Internet (7.3 MTD against 6.4 MTD, +14%); Bee (4.8 MTD against 3.6 MTD, +30%); ATI (4.1%, stable); Hexabyte (3.6 MTD against 3%, +18%); Ooredoo Internet (1.9 MTD against 0.8%, +128%).

It should be noted here that the operator Ooredoo began, during 2022, the operation of its fiber optic network for which it has made large investments.
