Tunisian Crude Oil Production Down 5%

Tunisian crude oil production reached 1,566 kilotons (kt) in 2023, down 5% compared to 2022, according to the monthly energy development report for December 2023 published by the National Observatory of Energy and Energy. mines.

This decline affected most large deposits, including Halk El-Menzel which started production in 2021 (-35%), Ashtart (-14%), MLD (-29%), El Borma (-8%), Oued Zar (-20%), Hasdrubal (-11%), Cherouq (-16%), Miskar (-12%) and Franig/Bag/Tarfa (-17%).

Aviation jet fuel consumption recorded a significant increase of 14% in 2023 compared to the previous year due to the recovery of the aviation sector, hit hard by the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
