As part of its 2024 promotion program, the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX), through its Commercial Representation in Cรดte dโIvoire, has guided a delegation of seven Tunisian exporting companies in the agri-food sector.
This mission, held in Abidjan from November 11th to 13th, aims to open new commercial avenues for Tunisian products in West Africa.
Organized in collaboration with the Tunisian Embassy in Abidjan, the event featured a structured program of key meetings with major Ivorian importers and distributors, enabling Tunisian businesses to forge direct links with strategic market players.
Moreover, immersive visits were conducted with leaders in Cรดte d’Ivoire’s retail sector, providing Tunisian exporters with a comprehensive view of the industry. Among the entities visited was the leading retail operator in Abidjan, boasting over 200 stores under 26 brands and four shopping centers, along with well-known distribution chains with stores and outlets spread across Abidjan and other parts of the country.
The mission also facilitated exchanges with Malian importers based in Cรดte d’Ivoire, thus providing Tunisian companies with access to neighboring markets, notably Burkina Faso and Mali, highlighting the regional scope of the initiative.
Currently, Tunisian food exports to Cรดte d’Ivoire account for only 3% of the total exports to this country, with products like dates, margarine, and biscuits leading the way.
CEPEX, through its Commercial Representation in Abidjan, reaffirms its commitment to support and guide Tunisian companies in exploring export opportunities in Cรดte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and Mali. This effort enhances their market access in these high-potential regions, aiming for better regional integration facilitated by the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.
