The Minister of Social Affairs, Malek Zahi, declared on Friday, August 19 that the number of illiterates in Tunisia stands at two million, that is to say, one million more during the last ten years.
In a speech at the opening of the international forum of Tunisians of the World, under the banner “invest in Tunisia”, organized by the Office of Tunisians Abroad, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), he reported one million poor and limited-income families, and an unemployment rate of 21 percent, Shems reports.
He mentioned 15,800 illegal migrants, including 800 women and 200 children in 2021.
Addressing the new constitution published in the Official Journal , he took up the words of the President of the Republic, according to which legality converges there with legitimacy. It is โa new legal framework, for the foundation of the new republic, with new mechanisms and new ideas with a view to concretizing the desired national projectโ.
“After years of lean times in Tunisia, the government has found a difficult situation, but has put in place the instruments and strategies to do so,” he said.
