Yesterday was not the first time that the presidency’s communications team issued statements about interviews or messages from foreign leaders that were wrong, or at least, truncated much of the truth.
This was the case with phone calls or interviews with emissaries of heads of friendly and brotherly states. And when the presidency publishes a press release with a given content of what had been exchanged during these talks, which is not always the case, because sometimes we learn from the press services of other heads of state that he had an interview which dealt with such and such a subject. And when the presidency publishes a press release, it is almost always to announce content other than what had been exchanged. But we always end up knowing what has been said, through the communication services of other countries.
However, what the presidency absolutely insists on hiding from Tunisians is well known to them, and the fact of hiding it gives these exchanges a whole new dimension, in the sense that the slightest discussion, when it is not announced by Carthage, takes turns of directives from other countries, and, at the limit, of interference in Tunisian internal affairs.
And then, it seems that the Carthage team is unaware that the World is now a small village and that everything ends up knowing quite quickly, and that the other countries also have their press services.
And what was exchanged during certain interviews with foreign leaders has always revolved around questions about a possible clear roadmap, or the urgency of appointing a valid head of government and mastering the intricacies of the international economy. What Tunisia needs most in this time of crisis. And, indeed, such expressions of interest, or of concerns about the future of Tunisia, when they are not announced by Carthage, take on the appearance of the order coming “from above” and serious interference. in Tunisian internal affairs.
We believed, however, that we were in the era of total transparency and information to the citizen of everything that happens, since “it is he who holds the real power”!
