Ferjani declared that the reception of the wounded is part of the implementation of President Saรฏed’s instructions, aimed at welcoming the wounded Palestinians who are suffering from aggression and the war led by Israel.

โ€œWe are happy to receive the first group of wounded, Tunisia is their country, and we stand in solidarity in words and deeds with Palestine,โ€ added the advisor.

Ferjani stressed that “there was great coordination between the Tunisian and Egyptian parties and the Palestinian Red Crescent, to prepare this group of wounded to receive care in Tunisia in public hospitals and private clinics.”

He explained that there is a “committee responsible for closely monitoring the evolution of the condition of the injured and their treatment needs until they recover.”

โ€œCoordination continues with the Egyptian authorities and the Tunisian and Palestinian Red Crescents, to accommodate a greater number of wounded Palestinians in Tunisia,โ€ explained Ferjani.

Ambulances belonging to the Ministry of Health, Civil Protection, and Military Health arrived at the airport to transport the injured Palestinians to several Tunisian hospitals to receive appropriate treatment, according to an Anadolu correspondent.

Tunisian President Kaรฏs Saรฏed announced on Thursday that “the Palestinian brothers (the patients) will be received in public and private hospital institutions, who have expressed their willingness to participate in the fulfillment of this sacred duty, the same as pharmacists and doctors.

Last Tuesday, Saรฏed confirmed, during a telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, the desire of his country, in coordination with the Egyptian authorities and the Palestinian Red Crescent, to welcome a certain number of wounded to treat them in Tunisia, according to a press release from the Tunisian presidency.

Since the start of the war led by Israel in the Gaza Strip on October 7, Tunisia has already dispatched military planes transporting medical and health aid for the benefit of the Palestinian people.

At the beginning of last November, the Tunisian Minister of Health, Ali Mrabet, confirmed the provision of an equipped field hospital in the governorate of Ben Arous (north), to accommodate wounded Palestinians, with a capacity of 120 beds.

The Tunisian scene shows great solidarity with the Palestinian people, with demonstrations in support of Palestine regularly organized by parties, pupils, students, and workers in several Tunisian cities, and particularly in the capital.

On December 1, the humanitarian truce between Palestinian resistance factions and Israel ended. The pause in fighting took place thanks to mediation by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States for 7 days, during which prisoners were exchanged and limited humanitarian aid was brought to the strip. of Gaza, home to approximately 2.3 million Palestinians.

Since October 7, the Israeli army has been carrying out deadly military operations against the Gaza Strip, interrupted by a 7-day humanitarian truce. Israeli attacks have killed 15,523 Palestinians and injured 41,316, in addition to massive destruction inflicted on infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, according to official Palestinian and UN sources.
