Tunisia: Twelve Irregular Migration Operations Foiled

238 illegal migrants have been rescued, according to the National Guard

On the night of April 28 to 29, National Guard units thwarted twelve irregular migration operations and rescued and rescued 238 illegal immigrants.

In a press release released on Sunday by the General Directorate of the National Guard and relayed by TAP (official), the maritime guard units in the Sahel foiled six irregular migration operations and rescued sixty-eight irregular Tunisian migrants, including three children and an individual who is the subject of eight wanted notices, in addition to the seizure of a boat.

Units under the Maritime Guard in the regions of Sfax and Mahdia also foiled six irregular migration operations and rescued 170 migrants, including 22 Tunisians and 148 Sub-Saharans.

In Kasserine and as part of efforts to combat irregular migration by land, units under the National Guard of Sbeรฏtla arrested, on the night of April 28 to 29, 2022, two people, including a woman, who were helping four sub-Saharans to leave the town of Kasserine in a truck, according to the same source.
